I recognise and sincerely thank the dedicated petition volunteers Meggan Harrison, Edna Carmichael and Peter Edwards of Public Health First, and the Bowral Mittagong Rotary Club, along with Local CWA Branches for their remarkable efforts in supporting the petition to secure a cancer treatment centre at Bowral and District Public Hospital. This has been a grassroots effort and the culmination of years of campaigning for a better cancer treatment service at Bowral Hospital. The tireless commitment of the volunteers to this important cause has been unwavering. I thank these organisations for leading the community‑led petition, through their advocacy, these volunteers have ensured that this issue is given the attention it so clearly deserves. I appreciate their compassion, determination and belief in better local health services and thank them for their efforts, which reflect the strength of community spirit in the Southern Highlands.
