Seniors Week Awards

Residents of Wollondilly Electorate (Wollondilly and the Southern Highlands) are encouraged to celebrate the positive role seniors play in the community by nominating them for the 2025 NSW Seniors Festival Local Achievement Awards.

This festival and the awards celebrate the contributions and achievements of our seniors. If you know a senior who helps make our community diverse, inspiring and active, then I encourage you to nominate them for acknowledgement of their contribution.

This annual festival is about celebrating the positive impact of older people in our families and society.

If you know a senior who strives to make our community a better place through volunteering, innovation, or simply supporting family and friends, now is the time to nominate them in the 2025 NSW Seniors Festival Local Achievement Awards under the theme “Time to Shine”.

Below are descriptions of five categories to consider nominations in: Business, Environment, Science, Agriculture, Health and Wellbeing, Lifelong Learning, and Community Service.

Winners of the Local Achievement Awards will be announced during the NSW Seniors Festival which runs from 3 – 16 March.

The awards program is part of an exciting schedule of events across the state.

By highlighting seniors’ continued efforts in helping themselves thrive, we are continuing to challenge ageism and empower seniors to overcome social stigmas.

Nomination forms can be completed online, completed using this online form or picked up at Judy’s electorate office in Tahmoor. You can also call the office to have a form emailed.

Applications close at 5.00pm on Friday 28th February 2025.
