Election 2023 - Judy's Newsletter #3

Dear all,

The election date – March 25th is now only 7 weeks away and the campaign is building momentum but requires a big push from everyone to get us over the line.

As an Independent I cannot do this without you. Attendance at campaign events so far has been truly inspiring, numbers of people attending have increased at each community meeting, but I want you to accelerate this.

Upcoming Events

Wilton - Bingara Gorge Park - Stringybark Dr &  Eather St  - 4th February 11:00am

Thirlmere /Tahmoor – Thirlmere Memorial Park – 11th February 11:00am

2023 STATE ELECTION: Meet the Candidates - Wollondilly and Goulburn Bowral Bowling Club – 22nd February 6:15 pm – Free – Booking Required at eventbrite.com

At Wilton & Thirlmere we will take questions, enjoy some refreshments, and have free campaign merchandise to be given out

What I’ve Been Up To

Monday, I recorded another interview with ABC’s Kelly Fuller. I have also spoken to the Guardian Newspaper re the Government ‘s use of public land as environmental offsets for developer’s projects.

We are about to record a radio ad at 2ST to be broadcast mornings to the Southern Highlands

I have spoken with people in Luddenham on shared issues from the Western Sydney Airport, and they are going to run a forum. Date to be advised.

Australia Day was wonderful with Council’s awards and the follow up of a BBQ with residents was only hindered by a heat wave followed by a storm.

I held two very informative and productive Community Events in the Corbett Plaza Bowral.

Each day was well attended, and some very critical issues were raised and discussed, including Bowral Hospital and the Regional Plan to approve 9-13 thousand houses and the population impact of this, which ties back to the Hospital bed availability with the lack of progression of Stage 2 Redevelopment.

Additionally, concerns were raised about Developer Contribution shortfalls leaving Ratepayers to fund infrastructure cost as well as the adverse potential impacts on the regions Biodiversity
