10th December 2022.
Around 50 members of the community attended former Mayor and longtime Councillor Judy Hannan's Independent bid for the upcoming NSW state election. The Launch event was held at Mittagong RSL on Sunday the 10th December 2022.
"I was absolutely thrilled by the turn out and the number of community members wanting to help. Looking forward to many cuppas around kitchen tables to hear what our community issues are."
This will be the second time that Hannan has run for the seat of Wollondilly, coming up against Liberal Nat Smith for the 2nd time.
The previous ballot ended in a close contest between the pair.
This time Hannan feels she can close out the gap and overtake Smith in the polls and win the seat.
Hannan spoke on issues facing the electorate and state more broadly such as climate and disaster resilience, public transport and the need for the Picton Bypass, as well as her opposition to the raising of the Warragamba Dam Wall.
Questions were taken from the crowd and the event lasted for around 1 hour.
The NSW state election will be held on the 25th March, 2023.
