Election 2023 - It's all about Development on tap - Not WATER

It’s all about development on tap - Not Water.

Spending $2 billion dollars for 14m of concrete and steel is about holding back water for longer, to open land for urban sprawl.

Now the tidal wave of urban sprawl is the real danger to the peri-urban food bowl of the Wollondilly and the Hawkesbury. On top of these concerns, this announcement if enacted, will diminish the health of the Nepean and Hawkesbury rivers to the north and to the south we will see irrevocable injury to our natural rivers and priceless indigenous and early settler heritage.

Warragamba Dam is a heritage-listed dam in the outer South Western Sydney suburb of Warragamba, Wollondilly Shire in New South Wales, Australia. It is a concrete gravity dam, which creates Lake Burragorang, the primary reservoir for water supply for the city of Sydney.
