14th September 2023.
Delivered on R U OK? Day, I have asked the Government to provide vital mental health services in Wollondilly to cater for the current and growing population. As an R U OK? Day Ambassador I was proud to sponsor a Business Brekkie in Picton today and promote R U OK? Day to the businesses in Wollondilly. With the distances in Wollondilly between villages many feel an isolation. For me the most important thing is to build connectedness, so that we can come together and then others finally listen to us.
Healthcare And Mental Health Services In Wollondilly.
That this house:
- Recognises physical access to healthcare services is a concern for rural communities, primarily in outlying towns and properties within Wollondilly and Wingecarribee LGAs.
- Notes there is a need for locally based mental health services and facilities that are adaptable to the growing population, highlighted by the Western Sydney Health Alliance submissions to NSW Health and the NSW Government to date.
- Calls on the NSW Government to answer these submissions positively by providing services in Wollondilly that the community deserve rather than just more houses on flattened landscapes.
The Western Sydney Health Alliance is a commitment and partnership across three tiers of government, working collaboratively to create healthy communities across the Western Parkland City.
The Partnership comprises of the 8 Parkland Councils of Blue Mountains, Camden, Campbelltown, Fairfield, Hawkesbury, Liverpool, Penrith and Wollondilly
