Election 2023 - Wollondilly’s independent candidate Judy Hannan has responded to the NSW Government’s announcement on the Picton bypass today

Wollondilly independent Judy Hannan slams the NSW Government’s empty promises on the Picton Bypass.

Wollondilly’s independent candidate Judy Hannan has responded to the NSW Government’s announcement on the Picton bypass today - calling out the government on their string of empty promises when it comes to the project.

The Wollondilly community has been waiting for movement on the project which has been promised at numerous elections.

Wollondilly’s independent candidate Judy Hannan said:

“This government has made this promise over and over, yet the Wollondilly community has been waiting for years and years for progress.

“The Liberal government has repeatedly used the Picton bypass as a key election selling point for themselves, even putting it on their corflutes at the federal election. Yet, all the community has seen is $3 million being spent to investigate where it should go, and even that came to no end.

“The community needs this bypass to relieve congestion and improve safety, especially during emergency events such as bushfires and floods.

“After years of broken election promises and eleventh hour pork-barrelling, the Wollondilly community will be justifiably skeptical of today’s announcement.”
