Bowral & District Hospital is the only hospital in the Wollondilly electorate, and is a vital health service for residents.
-
Upgrades were promised by the previous government, however due to insufficient community consultation, the resulting Clinical Services Plan did not reflect the true needs of the community who rely on this facility.
-
The $68.7 million Stage 1 redevelopment delivered a new Clinical Services Building focusing on clinical services and acute care, and included an emergency department, operating theatres and new maternity and birthing suites.
- The $55 million Stage 2 redevelopment that was delayed from 2020 will be completed in 2025 delivering support services in the updated Milton Park building and the new Outpatient Center

The opening of the new Outpatient Centre at Bowral & District Hospital this week marks a significant milestone in the redevelopment of the hospital. The outpatient centre is a part of the $55 million Stage 2 redevelopment phase which commenced in 2020.
The outpatient centre retains historical features of the 1930s-era former administration building while providing state of the art medical services. These include allied health offerings of physiotherapy, occupational therapy, social work, speech pathology, podiatry and dietetics, in addition to medical clinics, general medicine, cardiac diagnostics/rehabilitation and geriatrics, a modern gymnasium, and Aboriginal Dreaming Garden.
