Once again, Annie Cooke has demonstrated that age is not a barrier to excellence in sport. Annie has won a gold medal in the 50m butterfly at the World Masters Games in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In addition, Annie has secured fourth place in the 100m backstroke. These achievements, especially the gold medal, are well-deserved results. And they are a testament to Annie's determination - in the same race in 2024, she came 7th place. Some things truly do get better with age! Annie is an inspiration and a role model to many, and these results are testaments of her enduring commitment to excellence in sports. She continues to inspire the local community, particularly her fellow patrons of the Wollondilly Community Leisure Centre. We look forward to her future triumphs in the coming years.
