12 November, 2025.
I was honoured to attend and lay a wreath at the Beersheba Day Ceremony 2025 to commemorate the centenary of the Battle of Beersheba, the history-changing Australian Light Horse charge that occurred on 31 October 1917. The iconic Australian Light Horse is of great significance to Club Menangle, as the Menangle Park Race Track was used as a major training base for the Light Horse. As Bruce Christison, Chief Executive of Club Menangle, said, they were privileged to have veteran Kane Hall, Former Australian Army Trooper, as their distinguished guest speaker for the ceremony on Friday 31 October 2025. It is an important and special historical day of commemoration, and I was honoured to stand alongside the mayors and councillors from Campbelltown City Council, Camden Council, and Wollondilly Shire Council; my NSW parliamentary colleagues, the Hon. David Harris MP, Minister for Veterans, and Sally Quinnell MP, Member for Camden; representatives from Wollondilly RSL sub-Branch, Camden RSL sub‑Branch, Campbelltown RSL sub-Branch from Macarthur and Wollondilly regions; and many other special community guests. Lest We Forget.
