Bev Spearpoint is a long-time advocate for the Warragamba community, and throughout her tenure as councillor for North Ward on Wollondilly Shire Council she fought fearlessly for the residents of the village, along with being a voice for women's rights and accessibility. Known for her passion, dedication and a streak of pink in her hair, Bev championed local issues with unwavering commitment. From supporting infrastructure projects that would benefit the community to protecting the heritage of Wollondilly, Bev has been a consistent voice for the community. Bev was active on the youth, disability and inclusion committees. She recently campaigned for further inclusivity of women by running for the position of mayor in the elections on the weekend, the only female in the running. Although she was unsuccessful, her legacy will continue to benefit many into the future. Bev has been a role model, demonstrating that hard work, a willingness to learn and work cooperatively with others will make a difference. I wish her the best of luck in the next phase and look forward to seeing her passion, sense of humour and humility benefit the pursuits she sets her mind to next.
