15th May, 2025.
I was delighted to be invited to be the guest speaker at the Rotary Club of Bowral Mittagong meeting on 15th April at Annesley Retirement Village.
This club is involved in so many programs and projects supporting the Southern Highlands and many other regions. These include
Shelterbags for the Homeless, a charity that aims to provide shelter and warmth to the homeless people of Australia by distributing portable protective sleep bags. Rotary also hosts the Model United Nations Assembly, held at Wingecarribee Shire Council for teams of Year 11 and 12 students. This event encourages students to learn about the workings of the United Nations, while they develop debating skills and gain self-confidence in public speaking.
Another youth-focussed event facilitated by Rotary is the Science and Engineering Challenge and Discovery Day, held at Mittagong RSL Club. I am looking forward to attending Tulip Time in Corbett Gardens in Bowral in September this year, which is supported by the Rotary Club of Bowral Mittagong. Thank you to the members of Bowral Mittagong Rotary Club for your time and effort in caring for others and creating opportunities for connection.
