Community Recognition - Brian Page

26th June, 2025.

Brian Page joined the Bargo Volunteer Fire Brigade in 2001 and has since served continuously as an Advanced Firefighter with the NSW Rural Fire Service. Present almost daily at the station, he handles maintenance tasks and quietly ensures the brigade remains prepared for any emergency. Even during personal hardship, including the loss of his wife Monica, Brian remained dedicated to his duties at the brigade.

He has earned several honors recognising his commitment including the RFS Long Service Medal for 20 years of service in 2022, the National Emergency Medal with Clasp for the 2019–20 fires and the Premier’s Bushfire Emergency Citation in 2020.

In the past year, Brian has made a remarkable impact beyond firefighting. He participates at the Men’s Shed and he also visits preschools, delivering engaging firesafety education to young children.

Brian’s unwavering devotion in emergencies and community outreach truly embodies the selfless spirit of volunteer service.

Brian’s contribution has also been recognised with the awarding of the Local Hero award at the 2025 Wollondilly Australia Day Awards in the Picton Botanic Gardens. Congratulations Brian and thank you for all that you do for Wollondilly.
