Community Recognition - Classics at Picton

22nd October, 2024.

I would like to recognise the contribution that Classics at Picton has made to the cultural landscape of Wollondilly. Much like the new Performing Arts Centre, this concert series has brought world-class music and a rich cultural experience to our community, making classical music more accessible and enjoyable for everyone. The efforts the team to feature both classical masterpieces and contemporary Australian compositions has provided a platform for both established and emerging artists, enriching the musical diversity of our region. Concerts this year have included Sirius Chamber Ensemble and Bach After Dark, with the pianist Kevin Tamamini coming up in November. This series offers a unique opportunity to enjoy live classical music right here in Wollondilly. I offer my appreciation for Classics at Picton for their ongoing efforts to bring culture and the arts to our community, and I encourage everyone to support these wonderful events.
