Dave Clayton guided the Bargo Men's Shed from its inception at the Bargo Sports Club to the fully equipped facility it is today. For over six years, Dave dedicated countless volunteer hours and contributed personal funds to ensure the Shed not only survived but flourished. His success in fundraising, managing the development application process regarding the Bargo Sports Ground Shed has effectively led to the permanency of the Men's Shed in the Bargo community and was honoured with Life Membership of Bargo Men's Shed. Beyond the Men's Shed, Dave is actively involved in organising community events, managing Bunnings BBQ fundraisers, attending council meetings, engaging with government stakeholders, and building strong partnerships with the Australian Men's Shed Association and Bargo Sports Club. His impact is felt through stronger connections and improved wellbeing of members in the local community. Through his strong relationship with River Road Creative, Dave helped facilitate joint projects including the Music Bus and the introduction of a portable community stage. His commitment to this organisation saw him become President of River Road Creative Communities. Dave's nomination for this year's Wollondilly Shire Council Citizen of the Year is well deserved.
