Donna Warren is a Wollondilly Shire Council Australia Day Local Hero nominee. Donna was nominated in recognition of her volunteer work with Greyhound Rescues. Donna is a quiet achiever known for her caring, nurturing, reliable, patient, friendly and humorous qualities. Donna's volunteering efforts range from doing the dull and mundane tasks of cleaning, replacing mattress covers to supporting onboarding of new volunteers and travelling long distances to collect surrendered greyhounds from trainers. Donna displays grit, dedication, built trust and strong friendships with the hounds and volunteer groups at Greyhound Rescue. Donna is a valuable member of the team. She rarely needs to be asked or prompted to do anything, she is proactive and when asked to do something, Donna never hesitates - always putting the needs of the hounds and the team first. Also, Donna's dedication during her working shifts, working extended hours and additional shifts when volunteers are scarce doesn't go unnoticed.
