Ellen Stucki is a dedicated local sportswoman who served as school captain at The Oaks PS and Camden HS.. Her community impact is wide-reaching: she volunteers with WIRES to protect native wildlife, serves as an ambassador for a local mental health support group Saving True Blues and fundraises for Motor Neurone Disease. With WIRES, she designed and funded road signage to reduce wildlife collisions on Silverdale Road. In January, she joined a Clean Up Australia Day crew that collected half a tonne of rubbish from the Wildlife Corridor there. Ellen has studied the Bachelor of Occupational Therapy at Western Sydney University, a rigorous four-year program and has also been awarded the Camden Show Young Woman of the Year.
Ellen’s passion for advancing mental health and for wildlife conservation are evident in her tireless contributions to the community, and this led to her very deservingly being recognised as a Young Citizen of the Year at the 2025 Wollondilly Australia Day Awards. It is citizens like Ellen that make Wollondilly such a great place, and I wish her all the best for her future.
