It is with deep sadness that I inform the House of the passing of Mrs Geraldine Hunt, a widely loved resident of Thirlmere. She was somebody who was admired by the people of Wollondilly; indeed, someone they wish they could be. In addition to being a science teacher, Geraldine was an active member of the Arts Group, an active member of the Friends of Thirlmere Lakes, and she was involved in Bach in the Dark at Classics at Picton. In addition to her community service and teaching career, Geraldine was admired by the local community as an environmentalist with a deep sensitivity for our fauna and flora. Her advocacy led to her running for this Parliament in 2013 as the Greens candidate for Wollondilly. Geraldine was married to her husband David for half a century. Some years ago, David was made Citizen of the Year, but it was really a joint recognition for both David and Geraldine. Together, they raised four children Julien, Samuel, Emily, and Madeline. Our thoughts are with all of them, as well as their partners Monica, James, Dave, and Rupert, and her ten grandchildren, who remember her as 'Ninjr'. May Geraldine rest in peace.
