10th September, 2025.
On a beautiful late winter's morning in August I had the great pleasure of attending the Variety – the Children's Charity NSW & ACT Bash 2025 at Glenquarry Public School. This remarkable event is part of a 3,600-kilometre journey across the country, raising vital funds for children in need and delivering grants that support regional communities along the way. This year, the Bash made a special stop at Glenquarry Public School, one of the smallest schools in New South Wales, bringing joy, colour, and generosity. Importantly, Glenquarry Public School will directly benefit from this visit, with funding to establish an outdoor learning space featuring seating and a sensory garden. Thanks to the parents, staff and P&C of the school for their efforts in making it such a success. I also commend the Rotary Club of Bowral-Mittagong for their outstanding efforts in providing a hot breakfast for the Bashers, students, and local families. Since 2005, Variety's "Bush to Beach" program has continued to inspire hope and promote education for children in rural communities. Congratulations to all involved on a truly memorable event.
