Community Recognition - Harbison Art Exhibition

15th October, 2025.

I was delighted to attend the Inaugural Harbison Art Exhibition! Residents and volunteers put on a terrific show, showcasing an amazing variety of themes and subjects, from birds and wildlife to flowers, still life, life drawing, and landscapes. Thank you to Mr David Cochran, CEO of Harbison Burradoo and Moss Vale, for inviting me to celebrate this wonderful initiative. David shared a touching story about a painting created some years ago that went on to become Harbison's treasured Christmas Card cover, painted by a resident called Lindsay. Lindsay's latest works include bird life, featuring an amazing magpie as well as a striking series of abstract pieces inspired by his newest vision. It was a privilege to join many Harbison residents and connect with so many familiar faces from both Burradoo and Moss Vale to enjoy the exhibition, with guests such as Aunty Wendy Lotter, Erin Foley, Deputy Mayor of Wingecarribee Shire Council, Archibald Prize Winner and local artist Cherry Hood, along with the dedicated volunteers and supporters who helped bring this exhibition to life. Projects like this have made such a difference to Harbison residents keeping them active both physically and mentally. It was an inspirational day.
