Held on October 24th at the William Inglis Hotel, The Western Sydney Tourism Awards 2024 recognised the excellence and diversity of tourism providers in all of Western Sydney including Wollondilly. I am proud to congratulate the many winners, among them Wollondilly local favourite the "Illuminate Festival of Art and Light", an initiative of Wollondilly Shire Council. Illuminate was the Gold Winner in the Business Event Festival of the Year category. Held annually in Picton Botanical Gardens precinct, Illuminate brings together local artists, musicians and performers over a dazzling weekend where locals get to enjoy the festive atmosphere including a fireworks display. Events include the Long Table Dinner, the South 32 Art and Light display in Picton Botanic Gardens, along with market stalls and projections lighting up buildings, culminating with Music on the Lawn on Sunday. Bringing the community together in a joyous celebration of light and art, Illuminate continues to be a yearly highlight and they are most deserving of their Tourism award.
