Congratulations to Jalah Morris on being named a finalist in the NSW Training Awards, in the category of Apprentice of the Year 2025. Jalah is a dedicated apprentice currently enrolled in the Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, through Quality Training Colleges. The Awards showcase the skills and talent existing within the vocational education and training VET sector and recognise outstanding achievement.
Growing up in the Southern Highlands, Jalah found her passion for fast-paced environments and strong team dynamics at fine dining restaurant Eschalot, in Berrima. Jalah’s awareness of local farming is reflected in her interest in food production and sustainability. Jalah’s values are align with the ethos of the restaurant, where local suppliers are supported and the menu showcases seasonal ingredients from its own kitchen gardens.
Jalah quickly became a valued member of the Eschalot team where her enthusiasm and ability to learn quickly has helped develop a diverse skill set. Her immersive, industry-based training allowed her to complete her apprenticeship in an accelerated time frame - another great achievement. Her commitment to connecting people with their food source reflects her passion for nurturing the environment while delivering exceptional culinary experiences. Well done on this fantastic recognition.
