Along with year 11 students from Chevalier College, Southern Highlands Christian School, Frensham School, Bowral High School and Oxley College I attended the U Turn The Wheel event at Mittagong RSL, hosted by Moss Vale Rotary. This incredibly important road safety program educates young drivers on how to handle the challenges they face every day on our roads. The highlight of the event was the presentation by Southern Highlands resident Jarrad Ingram, who endured a major car accident as a young person. Jarred's powerful story of recovery and resilience demonstrating the importance of mindfulness while driving was not only moving, but full of invaluable advice that every young driver should hear. His dedication and determination, including years of rehabilitation, are evident in every aspect of his life from his work at Mittgagong RSL and as a motivational speaker, to his role as a devoted husband and father to his young daughter. Jarrad's advice to "remain relaxed and never get behind the wheel when angry, sad, or fatigued" is a crucial reminder of the responsibility we all have on the road. Thank you, Jarrad, for sharing your journey and for being an inspiration for us all.
