Community Recognition - Karen Murray

Karen Murray, a dedicated volunteer with the Community Circles Eating Disorder group, has made a remarkable difference across various areas in the community. Known for her energy and compassion, Karen's outreach spans a wide range of activities. She creatively encourages children to read by hiding books in ziploc bags throughout Wingecarribee for them to discover. She also organises a local social group that regularly meets for coffee and lunch, creating a warm space for connection and conversation. Karen also finds time to visit elderly residents, bringing them much-needed companionship. Karen runs a podcast dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich historical stories of the Southern Highlands. She has been a constant source of encouragement and support for so many, and her efforts have not gone unnoticed. Currently, Karen is working to establish an anxiety support group and has been essential in assisting with the Community Circles' School Refusal Group. Volunteers like Karen truly transform lives and help build a stronger, more connected community. Her unwavering dedication serves as a testament to the power of community service.
