Keith began his working life in 1982 at Mittagong Veterinary Hospital, after graduating from Sydney University with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science with Honours in 1981. Dr Keith cut his teeth as a young vet under respected veterinarians Drs Rob and Jennie Churchill, and took over the practice in 1983. For over four decades he has devoted his working life to serve the local community as a veterinary surgeon and General Practitioner vet, both large and small animals, caring for animals over many generations of families in our local district. He has also supported wildlife rescue organisation WIRES since the early 1990s, offering volunteer veterinary services. Dr Keith has had a special interest in community veterinary development, overseas. His strong sense of social responsibility coupled with adventurousness has seen him making several trips to countries India, Nepal and Uganda. Some of the organisations he supports include AMRIC (Animal Management in Rural and Remote Indigenous Communities), Vets Beyond Borders and Pets in The Park. Dr Keith's big heart for animals and their owners, coupled with his devotion to veterinary work at Mittagong Vet and the local regional community since 1982 is a treasure and rarity.
