Community Recognition - King's Honours List

19 September 2023.

Community Recognition Statement - King's Honours List.

Last month we commended three exceptional individuals from our community who were recognised in the 2023 King's Honours List. Heather Bieman, Kim Hill and Val Stewart each received an Order of Australia medal for their remarkable contributions and efforts to improve our local area.

We also commended those who serve in emergency services roles and local government. Andrew Macdonald, a Camden resident, was awarded the RFS Australian Fire Service Medal for his dedicated service. Hayley Turner from Wollondilly was honoured with the Ambulance Service Medal for her exemplary work in emergency medical care.

These recipients, along with all of the 1,191 Australians acknowledged, have enriched our communities through their selflessness.

This year's honours also marked a significant milestone, with women outnumbering men in the Order of Australia awards for the first time.

We encourage all Australians to consider nominating those who have made a significant impact in their communities. We applaud the achievements of the recipients.
