Mittagong Preschool Kindergarten Inc. has been awarded two grants through the NSW Government’s Early Childhood Education and Care Flexible Initiatives Trial Round 2. One grant will allow the preschool to extend their opening hours, and the second grant increases the licensed places. This will allow the preschool to increase access for local families, addressing the needs of the area and giving more children the benefit of the preschool experience before starting primary school.
Mittagong Preschool is a not-for-profit community preschool established in 1976, with Pauline Iacono as Director leading a team of enthusiastic and dedicated teachers and staff. Pauline has been involved in the preschool for over 30 years as a parent, teacher and director, and has seen many of the second generation of families return - a testament to the longevity and excellence of this community based preschool. The focus on creating an environment in which children can thrive is further enhanced by an active and engaged Parent Committee. Thanks to the funding, more children will be able to access the preschool program, and I congratulate the Preschool on these insightful trial initiatives.
