Every April for the past 25 years, the Nagarathar Sangam Australia Inc. (NSA) has gathered at Douglas Park, Wollondilly. NSA originated from a straightforward desire to reconnect with their heritage and foster a deep sense of belonging in their adopted homeland.
I was truly honoured to be invited to celebrate this important milestone, which marks 25 years of community engagement, cultural preservation, and steadfast unity for the Nagarathar diaspora in Australia.
This gathering serves as a chance to honour their accomplishments, reflect on their journey, and gaze toward the future. Guest speakers from Australia and the Asia-Pacific region were in attendance, and they engaged in a lively Q&A session facilitated by young participants.
Starting from humble beginnings in the early 2000s, the NSA has grown into a dynamic organisation that supports hundreds of followers across Australia and the Asia-Pacific. They have become a pillar of support for newcomers, a centre for cultural interchange, and a platform for nurturing intergenerational relationships, regularly participating in the International Business Conference for Nagarathars with delegates from Australia.
Thank you to the executive committee members for inviting me to celebrate this special occasion with you.
