The disastrous 2019-2020 bushfire season left a lasting impression on so many in our communities, not only of the hardships and damage of the fires but of the courage and commitment of our first responders, whose service we will be forever thankful for. One of those standout firefighters is recently retired Senior Firefighter Narelle Evans. A firefighter with Fire and Rescue NSW for over 20 years, Narelle's years of service culminated in the NSW Premiers Bushfire Citation acknowledging her invaluable contribution during that devastating bushfires season. Narelle commenced her career at Fire and Rescue NSW College on August 8th 2003, and has worked at Fairfield, Cabramatta and Narellan stations. Narelle was also an accredited General Land Rescue Operator and has been recognised with a number of awards including the Long Service award, Good Conduct Medal and the prestigious National Medal. These awards reflect the core values of the Fire and Rescue NSW – Respect, Integrity, Service and Courage and an unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property, values that Narelle has held up consistently. Narelle you are an inspiration to many and I am honoured to recognise your career and significant achievements.
