Community Recognition - Picton Probus Club and Maureen Belanszky

5th June, 2025.

It was fabulous to welcome the Picton Probus Club to NSW Parliament, last Thursday, to the oldest Parliament in Australia, for a day of history, conversation, and connection.

Probus Clubs play a vital role in the health and wellbeing of our community, offering a welcoming space for retired and semi-retired individuals to meet new friends, stay socially engaged, and build meaningful connections. During their visit, we toured the historic building, reflected on the legacy of our democracy, and had thoughtful discussions about what matters most to them and to Wollondilly. These conversations are invaluable. They help shape how I represent our community in the Legislative Assembly and inform the policies I advocate for. Listening and engaging with our community isn’t just meaningful, it’s essential to good representation. Great to catch up with you all — I look forward to bumping into you out and about in the Wollondilly Electorate!

Special thank you to long term member Maureen Belanszky who I wont see as often. I understand she will be returning to Canada soon to live near her daughter. Her club, family, community and friends will miss her dearly. From all of us, thank you Maureen!
