19th November, 2025.
On 11 November, I gathered with veterans that served, their families and community, at Picton Memorial Park for a poignant commemoration service, one of thousands held across the nation. On this Remembrance Day, we honour the many Australian personnel who gave their lives in service to our country. Thanks to Picton High School Performance Ensemble Band and technical Crew for their moving musical contributions. Their performance added great dignity and feeling to the service. It's a day to pause and reflect on the more than 103,000 Australians who lost their lives, and to honour all who have served in wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping missions. Memorial parks are among the first places seen by visitors travelling through our region, and Wollondilly can be proud of the dedicated teams who keep these open spaces looking welcoming and peaceful. As always a heartfelt thank you to Picton Anzac Day Committee, and, many RSL sub‑Branch organisations across Australia and New Zealand, for their tireless work in organising services for veterans, their families, and the wider community. Your dedication and commitment uphold a proud tradition that remains a vital part of our national fabric. We will remember them. Lest We Forget.
