Community Recognition - Say No2DV Breakfast 2024

11th February, 2025.

It was heartening to see so many people at the Say No2DV Breakfast on 27 November 2024 at Gledswood Homestead. The theme was "My Story Does Not Define Me", which sends a powerful message that victims of domestic violence are not defined by their abuse. The Say No2DV Camden/Wollondilly Domestic Violence Committee hosted this event, which saw so many people show their support for such a critical issue. The strong turnout at that breakfast gives me hope that there is a better future for many in our community. Together with domestic violence support and prevention sector leaders, amazing leaders in our region, people like Tanya Whitehouse from the Macarthur Women's Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Service, are here to educate the community about what is and isn't acceptable in our society. A heartfelt thank you to guest speaker Tanya for sharing her deeply personal story of enduring harrowing domestic violence, a story that impacted three generations and touched countless friends and family. Her courage helps us understand the far-reaching effects of domestic violence and inspires action. Together, we can say no to domestic violence and work towards a future where everyone feels safe, valued, and supported.
