Community Recognition - South West Sydney Academy of Sport

21st October, 2025.

South West Sydney Academy of Sport [SWSAS] recently honoured the region's top athletes, coaches, and volunteers at its 2025 Sports Awards Dinner, held at The Cube, Campbelltown Catholic Club. The night recognised excellence across sporting performance, leadership, academic achievement, and community contribution. The event brought together dignitaries, sponsors, alumni, and sporting greats including NBL star Todd Blanchfield, WNBL athlete Piper Anderson, and Wests Tigers Head of Recruitment, Shannon Gallant and Co-captain Apisai Koroisau. These awards celebrate not only sporting excellence, but the values of leadership, resilience, and contribution to our community. Our athletes, coaches, and volunteers represent the very best of South West Sydney sport. SWSAS brings together a diverse and inspiring cohort of athletes to reach for their dreams and it is always wonderful to see so many incredible young athletes striving for their ultimate goals along with their dedicated coaches and training staff. This Academy outcompetes other sports academies across the state with a much higher percentage of its athletes reaching Olympic and Commonwealth Games eligibility. I look forward to seeing many of our young athletes in Brisbane in 2032.
