Community Recognition - Southern Highlands Festival of Lights

6th February, 2024.

The Festival of Lights, a month-long December celebration held in Corbett Gardens, Bowral, has become a cherished tradition, enchanting the Southern Highlands with its dazzling installations and vibrant events. In 2023, the festival welcomed thousands of attendees, transforming Corbett Gardens into a hub of family-friendly festivities. The Festival incorporated Christmas Night Markets, the Angels in Our Town parade, the Southern Highlands Food and Wine Festival, a family carols night, a kids and teens disco, a Christmas Lights Competition and a New Year's Eve Countdown Concert, along with the stunning light displays illuminating the Gardens. The Festival is an initiative of Business Southern Highlands, and is only possible through the voluntary work of a dedicated team of locals who contribute their time and expertise to bring the magic of the Festival of Lights to life. The Festival is supported by the Wingecarribee Shire Council, along with Destination Southern Highlands and the Southern Highlands Community Foundation. The commitment of all those involved underscores the community spirit that makes this event a beacon of joy during the festive season, and one to look forward to each year.
