Each spring, thousands of bulbs burst into bloom for the Tulip Time Festival in the Southern Highlands. Tulip Time has been running for more than 60 years in the Highlands transforming so much of Bowral into a sea of colour. Tulip Time was held from mid-September until the October long weekend this year with more than 80,000 tulip bulbs and annuals planted in Corbett Gardens to create some floral patterns. This annual festival transforms the gardens into a vibrant display of tulips, offering a spectacular event for locals and visitors to the Southern Highlands region. There was an abundance of colourful entertainment including market stalls, art installations, live music and roving performers across the blooming. The Tulip Trail follows pathways to other sites across the area including the Southern Highlands Visitor Information Centre in Mittagong and to Leighton Gardens in Moss Vale. Walking through the surrounding villages, you can admire the many gorgeous private gardens where residents have planted in front of their homes that are also brimming with tulips.
