At the end of March an elderly resident of Bowral contacted my office because she was not physically capable of doing maintenance on a tree in her yard. On 1 April 2026, Beauman Jones from Challenge Welby Gardens in the Southern Highlands volunteered to assist and pruned back overhanging tree branches for the resident within one day. He did not ask for anything in return. This gesture of kindness has not gone unnoticed. Val’s project was a large tree trimming job to remove branches that were affecting her TV antenna and roof gutters. Along with Beau, Ben Hardie and his team of support workers removed all branches and all green waste for Ms Dickson, this job was done free of charge as a way of giving back to community and helping someone who was in need.
