Community Recognition Statement - Australian Wildlife Sanctuary

11th February, 2025.

On the morning of 29 November 2024, I had the pleasure of helping to officially open the stunning new addition of a Tasmanian devil enclosure to the Australian Wildlife Sanctuary at Bargo. Members should make sure to visit and support this remarkable sanctuary. This incredible facility is a must-visit for locals, families and visitors to Wollondilly. It is not only an opportunity to enjoy our native wildlife up close but also a chance to appreciate the vital work being done to protect and nurture our local flora and fauna. I especially thank Tahmoor Colliery for its three-year partnership with the Australian Wildlife Sanctuary. It supports the development of both the koala sanctuary and this wonderful new Tasmanian devil enclosure. I also thank the Tahmoor Uniting Men's Shed for its craftsmanship in building the Tasmanian devil enclosure boxes and the picnic tables for the sanctuary. It is a fantastic contribution.
