The Bowral Country Women's Association [CWA] centenary celebration, held at the picturesque Milton Park Country House Hotel & Spa, was nothing short of spectacular. April in the Southern Highlands brings a vibrant transformation as the leaves turn rich shades of gold and crimson. On that beautiful April day, the grounds were immaculate and the trees magnificent. On arrival it felt like stepping into a celebration of nature and history. The Bowral branch of the Country Women's Association marks 100 years of unwavering service, resilience, and community spirit. Early meetings took place in cherished local spaces like St Jude's Church rooms in Bowral, the Wingecarribee Shire Council and even members' homes, rooted in the heart of the community. Since then, the Bowral branch—and the CWA more broadly—has stood as a pillar of support for women and families, particularly through challenging times. From supporting the Flying Doctor Service and the military to responding to drought, fires, floods and war, the CWA has always rallied together to meet community needs. It is a powerful voice for change, a hub for fundraising and a force for advocacy.
