Along with many fellow Members from both the Legislative Assembly and the Legislative Council, it was great to attend the LG8 Strategic Partnership networking event and hear more about the collaborative work being undertaken across some of New South Wales' fastest growing and most strategically important regions. The LG8 Partnership brings together eight councils: Camden, Campbelltown, Kiama, Shellharbour, Shoalhaven, Wingecarribee, Wollondilly and Wollongong, spanning Macarthur, the Illawarra Shoalhaven and the Southern Highlands. Together, they are working collectively to deliver major regional priorities, transformational infrastructure opportunities and long-term strategic planning. A key focus of the partnership is strengthening connectivity across the region through improved passenger and freight links, while also supporting housing growth, supply chain resilience, economic development and stronger communities. The event, hosted by The Hon. Paul Scully MP, highlighted just how important collaboration is between local councils, State and Commonwealth governments, industry and investors to unlock opportunities and deliver meaningful outcomes for the communities we serve. Partnerships like LG8 play an important role in ensuring our regions remain connected, supported and prepared for future growth.
