Community Recognition Statement - Lynette Buick

19th March, 2025.

Lynnette Buick voluntarily runs HOPE Wollondilly, a thrift store that raises funds for a number of local, national and international charitable causes. Lynnette runs the organisation with the purpose of raising money that she can distribute directly to those in need. Lynnette has focused her efforts on worthwhile groups in the Philippines. That includes Bethany Girls' Home, which operates on the financial support of a small group of people located worldwide to benefit the youth who rely on its services. She also supports a medical and maternity outreach program and local schools. HOPE Wollondilly fundraises locally for groups like the 24 Hour Fight Against Cancer Macarthur, and also helps those in the surrounding community with a free food pantry consisting of donated items available at no cost to those in need. Money is raised through the HOPE Wollondilly thrift shop in Tahmoor, which Lynnette staffs. By taking goods that are no longer needed by others and giving them a second life, she also makes a positive contribution to reducing waste and helping people with the cost of living. I thank Lynnette for her efforts to make a positive impact both at home and abroad.
