26th June, 2025.
On Tuesday 17 May 2025 I had the pleasure of attending the annual general meeting [AGM] of the Menangle Rural Fire Brigade. Time and again, members of the Menangle Rural Fire Brigade have shown their exceptional dedication to helping those in need and protecting people and property from the indiscriminate devastation of bushfires and disasters. They have served not only here in Wollondilly but also on secondment to assist in areas of greater New South Wales affected by disasters, and even internationally to Canada as part of an international cooperation request. Their time and effort, always given humbly, genuinely and selflessly, help keep our community safe. To the members of the brigade and their families who help support family members to make this possible, I say thank you. While each has their own reasons for volunteering, it is the collective impact they make that truly strengthens our community and makes Menangle a great place to live, work and enjoy life. I congratulate those who received awards and brigade badges at the AGM. I thank them for their outstanding contribution to the NSW Rural Fire Service and to the Menangle and district community.
