On behalf of the Wollondilly electorate, I congratulate Mr Geoffrey Prenter of Bowral, who has received the Medal of the Order of Australia in the General Division as part of this year's King's Birthday Honours. He received this honour for his services to the print media as a sports journalist. Mr Prenter served for over a decade as the founding editor of Rugby League Week, media liaison to the New South Wales Rugby League for The Sun newspaper in the 1980s, was on the judging panel for the NRL Immortals for over 30 years, and was a sponsorship negotiator for City Ford and Eastern Suburb in the late 1970s. In the print media, he worked for both The Sun in Sydney and The Daily Telegraph for many years. He has also contributed to charity as a promoter and sponsorship manager and was on the shortlist for the NRL Hall of Fame in 2019. Geoff Prenter OAM has dedicated a large portion of his life to the media, sport and to journalism, and we congratulate him.
