28th May, 2025.
Congratulations to Ryan King of Thirlmere, who has been named in the Australian Men’s National Softball Team, the Aussie Steelers. Ryan is the Duty Manager and Lifeguard at Wollondilly Community Leisure Centre at Picton, and will travel to Canada in July to compete in the 2025 WBSC Men's Softball World Cup, proudly representing Australia at this elite level of competition.
Ryan has played softball for over 20 years. His selection in the national team marks one of the greatest achievements of his sporting career — the result of years of hard work, commitment, and passion. Playing shortstop, one of the toughest and most demanding positions on the field, Ryan has proven himself as a key asset to the Aussie Steelers.
In addition to the World Cup in Canada, Ryan is also set to compete at the World Games in China, where we wish him luck as he represents Australia. Congratulations, Ryan. Wollondilly is cheering you on as you take your skills to the world stage.
