I congratulate Mitchell Skipworth and Addison Barnes, who recently competed at the Australian Age Championships.
Both swimmers train at the Wollondilly Community Leisure Centre, where Mitchell also works as a lifeguard. He has been a member of Picton Swim Club for 10 years, and at the championship competed in five huge events: 200 metres freestyle, 400 metres freestyle, 800 metres freestyle, 1,500 metres freestyle and 400 metres individual medley.
Addison's family have been involved in Picton Swim Club for over 40 years and Addison has had formal swimming lessons at Wollondilly Community Leisure Centre since the age of three. Swimming is important to Addison because it is her passion and fuels her drive for success. The milestone of qualifying and attending nationals is the result of 18 months of focus and discipline. Addison competed impressively in the 50 metres breaststroke, 100 metres breaststroke, 200 metres breaststroke and 200 metres individual medley. Mitchell and Addison have done themselves proud, and the Wollondilly community is proud of them as well.
