Community Recognition Statement - Tahmoor Uniting Community Garden

17th October, 2024.

While heading to the Southern Highlands, I made a stop at the Tahmoor Uniting Church markets on Thirlmere Way. It was a wonderful experience to catch up with the members of the Uniting Men's Shed and to witness the lively activity of the local village markets. The atmosphere was vibrant, with stallholders showcasing a variety of unique goods. A standout feature of the event was the fresh, homegrown produce from the Tahmoor Uniting Community Garden available for purchase. It was truly a pleasure to see the fruits of local labour being enjoyed by the community. For anyone interested in gardening, the Tahmoor Uniting Community Garden is an excellent opportunity to connect with fellow green thumbs. The group meets every Monday and Friday morning from nine to 12, welcoming all who wish to learn, grow and share gardening knowledge. The garden not only serves as a space to cultivate plants but also fosters a sense of community and belonging. Whether an experienced gardener or just starting out, this is a fantastic way to get involved in a rewarding and sustainable activity. I encourage everyone to head down and be part of a thriving community initiative.
