Congratulations to every single person who helped make this year's Transport Heritage NSW - Thirlmere Festival of Steam such an enormous success once again. From the NSW RFS volunteers and Wollondilly Shire Council events team to the community groups, entertainers, bands, pipe organs, vintage car owners, the Heritage Rail team, stallholders, food vendors, and local shopkeepers, the village was absolutely bursting with energy, joy, and entertainment all weekend long. The Festival of Steam is such a special celebration of our rich rail history and vintage culture, bringing people together from across Sydney, regional NSW, and beyond to experience the unique charm of Wollondilly. A special thank you to Cedar Creek Orchard for supplying local apples and supporting the event. It was wonderful to connect with so many people throughout the day at our mobile Wollondilly Electorate Office, sharing conversations about what matters to you, policy ideas, and community spirit. Across the event I spoke with people from as far afield as Port Macquarie and even Melbourne. Events like this showcase the very best of our region — community, heritage, tourism, and local pride all coming together to create something truly memorable.
