Our community has been deeply shocked and saddened by the untimely death a couple of weeks ago of Dr Jonathan Grimshaw, a GP at the Picton Family Medical Centre. Throughout his working life he was dedicated to the health and wellbeing of others. Prior to becoming a GP he served with distinction in the Royal Australian Navy, reaching the rank of lieutenant commander. As a GP, he specialised in sports, musculoskeletal medicine and veterans health. Dr Grimshaw is remembered fondly by our community members for helping families during tough times and understanding and managing medical needs in a professional and supportive manner. He is also remembered as a great guy who always spoke fondly of his wife and kids, who listened to his patients, and for his remarkable knowledge. He cared for his patients and they loved him in return. Our community's thoughts are with Dr Grimshaw's wife, Katey, and their six children and his friends and colleagues at this profoundly difficult time. We have lost a doctor and a friend, and Katey and their children have lost a devoted husband and father. May Dr Jonathan Grimshaw rest in peace.
