Community Recognition Statement - Wingecarribee Shire Council's Youthfest

3rd June, 2026.

Wingecarribee Shire Council is to be commended for their Youth Week activities for this year. With input from their Youth Council participants, the program demonstrated a strong commitment to listening to youth voices and creating meaningful opportunities to gather, participate and connect. YouthFest, held at Loseby Park in Bowral, was a free community event that brought young people together in a safe and welcoming environment during the school holidays. With activities including a giant jumping castle, live music, creative drop-in sessions and food stalls, the event catered to a diverse range of interests and needs. Notably a free bus service was also trialled to transport participants from the surrounding towns and villages. Wingecarribee Shire Council's YouthFest was supported by the NSW Government, ReFrame, Community Links Wellbeing, Highlands Community Centres, Highlands Youth Services and Pop In!, along with Wellways, RiverRoad and Traxside. In addition to YouthFest, The Dream. Dare. Do. - art exhibition, hosted in the atrium at the Civic Centre, highlighted the talent and creativity of youth in the area. These events ensure that young people feel supported and valued, and I congratulate Wingecarribee Shire Council for their commitment to the youth of Wollondilly.
