Across the State, year 12 students are celebrating their graduations. I have attended many celebrations over the past couple of weeks and, even for me, memories have come flooding back. The principal of one of those schools said:

The memories you've made here will always connect you, even as your paths now begin to move in different directions.

As you step forward into the next stage of your life, remember that success isn't defined by a single exam mark or career choice. Success is in the small, everyday decisions that you make, how you treat each other, the way you persevere, and the kindness and respect that you show.

Carry those values with you and you do well wherever life takes you. And so, year 12, as you graduate, I hope you take a moment to look back and realise that these years, the laughter, the challenges, even the stresses have been part of your own set, of the good old days.

And as you leave here, you're about to begin creating a whole new set.

I thank all the teachers, school support staff and, of course, the families, parents and caregivers who guide our young people.
