Chris was recently nominated to receive the 2026 Wollondilly Local Hero Nominee Australia Day Award. Chris was nominated for her community work regarding Picton Show Society over the past 30 years. She has held leadership roles including Senior Vice President, Treasurer, Rodeo Secretary, Booking Coordinator and running the horse section since 1995. Chris' dedication and hard work has assisted in preparing and manning the successful Picton Show events each year. Chris was also nominated on the basis of her contributions to the clean up in Picton after the devastating floods in 2016. She spent weeks cleaning, washing and painting walls at the sportsground. Chris motivated fellow Picton Show Society members to pitch in and be resilient after the floods.
